The Menacing looks and chocolate wrapper?

Been a while since my last post. Sorry for that,been very busy. Still am, but found a couple of patches of 30 seconds that I could use ;) 

First up, took this shot a couple of days back. Who would've guessed grasshoppers were so serious about taking their photos taken! The weird thing is, when I showed this to my father, he said , referring to my obsession about nature that I'd probably marry a 'dragon fly or a grasshopper' (It sounds better in Malayalam)

At school, we have a chapter about AC (alternating current) in physics. One day, one of my friends asked me, "Do these stuff really exists?" and it struck me how badly our education system is proceeding. Many are unaware of many of the things that are easily available around us. Since I had a pretty good collection of 'stuff' at my house, I took a couple of stuff to class under a request from my teacher.

Well, needless to say, upon seeing a transformer which I took to break apart to show the insides, I got all sorts of guesses as to what it was... I almost heard every component that we learned in that chapter (or atleast what they remembered).

After I took off the cover, a couple of girls (who also suggested all the names I mentioned before) got to work (sadly during the class). In between they called me and showed me this(below). It looks pretty real from afar( the thing at the back; like a chocolate wrappper). It is in fact the cover around a transformer.( I put a red arrow showing that but I guess it is a bit too small, oops!) Pretty creative, aren't they? What's more, they ensured that they wrote their names on the back!!

Well, I guess that's all the time I've got. Will write up a some stuff about education soon...

Who is a Teacher?

Is it one who knows everything? One who teaches you everything?

Where did the question come from?

The other day I was reading a chapter about how Albert Einstein was kicked out or rather quit his school, fed up with the school routines and how his teachers were very irritated with his attitude towards education. A teacher asked him his view about education and he replied that he believed that education is not learning facts that can be read from books but learning new things.


So, who is a teacher?
Certainly, not ones that I mentioned at first.

To me, a teacher is anyone who can teach you anything. He/she maybe bad at all other things but maybe able to assist you in a particular thing. To me, every friend of mine is a teacher, even strangers who can teach me something is a teacher. Moreover, a teacher is one who is ready to accept, when asked something unknown to them, that they don't know it. I find this to be the most important quality of a good teacher. A good teacher is an eternal student.

In fact, I've had a few experiences where I asked our teacher a doubt and was almost scolded for it. And my mind simply refuses to accept such "teachers".Even a person who doesn't know "much" can be a good teacher if he/she can induce in their students a genuine interest in the subject and ignite their minds with imagination beyond words and the thirst for knowledge.

So, what does a teacher mean to you?

10 days of Onam holidays.Out of that 4-5 days classes and now an assignment!
5 pages on anything like attitude ,your thoughts about it and so on and on.........

An example why one should THINK

My classes at my new school started and I have a few friends over there that I knew from before.One is my senior and we are good friends.However,when I met him at school , he mentioned that since he was a senior he would not be so friendly JUST because his classmates were not so to their juniors.

This is exactly why I prefer think for myself and encourage everyone to do so.Why go with the flow if you don't agree with it.Why not make the change and make the new path as mentioned here

I believe that ,had he thought about what he had to do instead of following his classmates,he would have had an easier life and if everyone followed the lead the school would have been friendlier.

Hope things turn out better :) ...........

To my new school and new friends.It was a rare chance and good one to make new friends.But the hardest part upon reaching the new class is to choose your friends.Because,as the Malayalam saying goes
"ചങ്ങാതി നന്നായാല്‍ കണ്ണാടി വേണ്ട"
meaning
If your friend is good,there is no need for a mirror
How true indeed and the friends you make on the first day ,if you ask me,is very important because others would know you by the company you keep.So,its best to make a good impression from the beginning ,right?

Hope everyone gets great friends................

WHY?

Today being in India our school like most others asked the students to spend sometime as "service day".In our case 1 hour.
Each class was assigned a particular area and ours was a region filled with grasses behind our school.the teachers too joined us for the event.
But as always i was disappointed by the attitudes of the teachers and the largely ignorant students.
Only a few maybe 1 or 2 of my schoolmates were worried about the activities of the day.
Every year no matter how much more is learned every year,the students and even more sadly the teachers who are supposed to lead us remain largely ignorant of what exactly is top be done!!!!!!!!
Everyone loves plucking all the grasses, all the plants but none are worried about the numerous plastics,including toffee wrappers,bottles and covers that are spread all over the campus the students who are so keen on taking out the plants after exerting so much force are not able to pickup these fore mentioned plastics!!!!!

Why are we not able to ask Why???/
Why are we just blindly following our orders???????
Why are we not bothered about our only home?????? THE EARTH
